Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident - Multiple Specialties, Various Shifts, 0.90 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Nurse Residency Program Opportunities in Anchorage, AK starting July 22, 2019!

Our Residency program transitions new graduate nurses into practice emphasizing inter-professional, collaborative, and patient-centered care. Our comprehensive specialty curriculum includes online and classroom based learning, clinical simulation, skills development and unit orientation with specialty trained preceptors. Our Core Fundamentals program is designed to support new graduate professional development through their first year of practice.

As part of the larger entity known as “The Providence/St. Joseph Learning Institute”, the PAMC Nurse Residency Program, or “Clinical Academy, is Providence nursing’s key strategy for developing recently graduated nurses into well-prepared and well-supported professional nurses who provide exceptional care and experience to our patients. Made up of specialty-specific residency programs, the PAMC Clinical Academy will create an integrated, consistent structure for nurse onboarding and development that combines specialty training, dedicated preceptorships, and core fundamentals curriculum, which will all focus on nurse professional development.

Timeline:

Posting period 04/01/2019-05/01/2019

Applications are screened and applicants that successfully meet the requirements of the position will have a pre-screening video interview.

In person or video interviews with hiring managers will be approx June 2019.

The start date is Monday, July 22nd, 2019.

*The RN Resident program is up to 21 weeks of training. Candidates hired will have a 2 year commitment to the unit. Candidates must pass NCLEX and have RN license posted with the State of AK prior to the hire date and current BLS from the American Heart Association.

We do not offer relocation for our Residency program.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire

  • All Registered Nurses without a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) degree or higher must obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire. RNs with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN

  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of hire, and wherever care is delivered. If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire from the American Heart Assn.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
